The goal of an Eastern student has always been to leave with a diploma in hand. With the founding of the Eastern Kentucky State Normal School in 1906, students were able to attend for either a one or two year certificate that would prepare them for teaching. Those early classes were small. In 1907, five women graduated from the program. Eastern has, of course, grown immensely since those early days. In Spring 2018, EKU graduated 112 associates, 2,171 bachelors, 648 masters, 39 doctorates, and 23 specialists degrees.
