Honors Program

Fall 2012 Honors Program theses presentations.

In the fall of 1988, Eastern President H. Hanly Funderburk authorized the creation of an Honors Program. The program was set up to serve academically excellent students and provide them with an intensive and immersive experience. When created, students were required to have 3.5 GPAs and at least a 25 on their ACT. Today, students still meet these rigorous standards. This fall, the Honors Program celebrates 30 years of giving those students an experience that includes small classes, seminars, and the opportunity to present their work at a Senior Honors Thesis presentation.
