The Plain Brown Rapper

The Plain Brown Rapper, 1969.

Student protests and student publications often went hand in hand. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, a number of independent student publications were created on Eastern’s campus during the President Robert R. Martin era. The Plain Brown Rapper was one of these.  The Plain Brown Rapper provided information that other school publications didn’t publish. Along with other independent publications, it stood in contrast to the school sanctioned newspaper, the Eastern Progress, especially during the Vietnam Era.
