The Eastern Alma Mater from the booklet, Song & Cheers of Eastern, 1939.
This little booklet of songs includes one entitled, “Alma Mater.” One of many songs written about our campus, Eastern’s Alma Mater is a sentimental song about campus pride and school memories. The piece was written by Nancy Evans and arranged by music orchestra professor Jane Campbell. First played at the commencement ceremony in 1933, the song was first printed in the Eastern song book in 1935.
