University Ensemble

We've Come this Far By Faith by the University Ensemble.

The University Ensemble gospel singing group was formed in 1967, by EKU students Paul Eric Abercrumbie and Reginald Walters. The organization was composed mostly of African American students and allowed members to form friendships, fellowship, and find strength during the tumultuous Civil Rights era. The group started with less than 10 members but quickly grew to 80. Every Sunday the group would get on a bus to go perform – sometimes in Kentucky, but, sometimes outside of the state including Indiana, Florida, and Illinois. The Ensemble went on to record two albums, We’ve Come this Far by Faith and In the Beginning.
