MAB-58
Lester Street, Berea
ca. 1895
Board and batten cover Berea’s long one-story freight depot. A gable roof extends to provide wide, overhanging eaves, and brackets at the gable ends extend outward to support the gable extentions. Three loading bays on the streetside, each with sliding planked doors, once provided for the transfer of goods. Platforms facing the tracks gave efficient access for the loading and unloading of freight from the railroad cars. The L&N Freight Depot has sat idle since freight service to Berea ended in 1969.
