Mataline L. Clark House

Mateline L Clark House

MA-103
US 421 South
1865

The date 1865 is inscribed in one of the internal chimneys of this vernacular farmhouse. Four generations of the same family have been born here, beginning with John Robinson who operated a store and post office across the road.

A one-story porch, dating from the early twentieth century, extends across the front facade of this two story house. On the second story are three symmetrically-positioned, paired windows. The frontispiece includes sidelights as well as Greek ears in the door surround. Paired brackets under the eaves of the roof complete the detailing of this typical rural residence.
