Title A name given to the resource Shearin, Grace Robinson Scrapbook Description An account of the resource This scrapbook album was created by Grace Robinson Shearin, a 1924 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. The album contains items, between the years 1920 and 1924, including: memorabilia, newspaper clippings and photos of campus, students, and local places they visited. It is important to note that Grace annotated many items, such as letters and event programs, within the album, and these annotations really give the researcher insight into campus culture and personalities at the time. Title A name given to the resource Madison County Historical Society Records Description An account of the resource The Madison County Historical Society was founded in 1891 by a court order of the Madison County Court in its April session of said year, for "the purpose of collecting and preserving in some suitable form the relics of the Pioneer Days," and the "erection of proper memorials to mark important historical events and places in such a manner as to perpetuate and preserve them." The Madison County Historical Society still lives by this tenet today. These records spread out over two centuries, although all materials pre-dating the twentieth century exist as photocopies of the originals.
