EASTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY

Office for Civil Rights, Title IX Followup Visit

February 9, 1983

We have been advised by the Office for Civil Rights,

U. S. Department of Education, that a three-member team from

that office will visit Eastern on March 1, 2, and 3, to gather
information and conduct interviews. The data collected will
supplement the information gathered by another OCR team in a
previous visit.
The team will consist of Hr. Larmar Daniel, OCR
Postsecondary Education Branch Chief, Mr. l1arshall Brantley,
and Mr. Stanley Theune. Only Mr. Theune was a member of the
original visitation.team.
OCR has requested interviews with the below listed
persons. I am asking Mr. Combs to advise the coaches of the
schedule and Mr. Feltner to advise the members of his staff.
I will arrange for a Colonel Club representative.
Following the interview schedule is a four-item information request. I am asking Mr. Combs to provide the information in 1 and 2; Dean Bo8ue the information in item 3,
and Mr. Feltner the information in item 4.
The primary focus in the interviews, I am told, will
be the 1980-81 academic year. Therefore, Dr'.s. Calkin and
Chrietzberg will be appropriate interviews eventhough Rymnas t ics
has ',been dropped. The OCR team is aware that l'-1.r. Erdmann will
have to respond on both men's and women's track, and that there
have been certain other personnel changes (golf, rifle, tr a iners)
since 1980-81.
Interview Schedule

Tuesday, March 1
9:00 a.m.
