COLORADO SEMINARY January 28, 1976 As you know, AIAW will be sponsoring a national women's ski championship in March of 1977 . As a member of the AIAW National Ski Committee, it is my responsibility to establish representation at the regional level which will enable the Committee to design a championship format that will meet the needs of the membership. I am writing to request' that you, as Regional Representative , appoint, request or elect an individual from your region who will be responsible for coordinating women's intercollegiate ski racing within your region . The responsibilities of this individual would entail the fol l owing: 1. 2. 3. To serve as a liason to the AIAW National Ski Committee in formulating policies governing participation in that sport To evaluate AIAW policies for that sport and make reconunendations to the Committee for changes and revisions To establish regional procedures for qualifying fo r national events It is important that this individual be knowledgeable about ski racing and that she/he plan to continue coaching within your region through the 1976-77 school year. I am hoping to solidify all regional ski coordinator appointments by March 1, 1976. May I hear from you before that date?
