FROST Assistant Director Division of Sports Information KARL PARK Director Division of Sports Information arl Park, a 1970 graduate of EKU, is beginning his 16th year as Sports Information Director for Eastern's athletic teams. He served as sportseditorof the school newspaper, The Eastern Progress, for three years while a student of the University. The 37-year-old Richmond Ky. native is a member of the College Sports I nformation Directors of America (COSIDA), the United States Basketball Writers Association and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association . He received national recognition for the production of EKU's three seasonal media guides for 1978-79 and 1979-80. The winter sports guide was voted Best in the Nation - Division A for those two years. Park received his masters degree in Sports Administration from EKU in 1979. He is married to the former Shelley Steele of Owingsville and they have a daughter, Rachel, age 1. K Lady Colonel Basketball ack D. Frost, a veteran of 13 years in the newspaper and public information fields, is in his second year as assistant sports information director. The 35-year-old Richmond native spent the previous eight years with the EKU Division of Public Information where he served as news editor and feature editor. Before joining Eastern's staff, Frost served four years as news editor and photographer for the Richmond Register. He is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA), the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. He is a 1972 graduate of EKU and earned a master's degree in sports administration from Eastern in 1977. J 3 �The University astern Kentucky University is a regional coeducational public institution of higher education offering general and liberal arts programs, pre-professional and professional training in education and various other fields at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Located in Richmond, Kentucky, Eastern has a distinguished record of more than seven decades of educational service to the Commonwealth. Eastern was established in 1906. The campus of the old Central University, founded in 1874, was selected the site of the new school. In 1922, Eastern became a four-year institution known as the Eastern Kentucky State Normal School and Teachers College. In 1935, a graduate program was approved at Eastern, leading to the Master of Arts in Education. In 1948, the General Assembly removed the word "Teachers" from the name of the College and granted the College the right to award non-professional degrees. The most significant day since its founding came for Eastern February 26, 1966, when Governor Edward T. Breathitt signed into law a bill renaming the institution E 4 Eastern Kentucky University and sanctioning the awarding of graduate degrees in academic fields other than ed.ucation. Ever-mindful of the purpose of its founding, Eastern continues to recognize its historic function of preparing quality teachers for the elementary and secondary schools of the Commonwealth. However, a strong liberal arts curriculum leading to appropriate degrees, together with pre-professional courses in several areas and graduate programs, enable Eastern to uniquely serve the Commonwealth as a regional university. Eastern Kentucky University �Dr. H. Hanly Funderburk EKU's Eighth President D r. H. Hanly Funderburk, Jr., is now in his first full academic year as eighth president of Eastern Kentucky University. He was unanimously elected by the EKU Board of Regents in November, 1984 to succeed Dr. J.C. Powell as president and assumed office Jan. 1. Throughout his more than 30 years of service to education, Dr. Funderburk, 53, has held to his commitment to excellence in the classroom, in the research Jaboratory, and as a university administrator. Dr. Funderburk's background in many ways parallels that of many other of Eastern Kentucky University's founders - modest beginnings as a farm boy, earning his education, military service, a welcomer of responsibility, enthusiastic, impatient of mediocrity. A native of Carrollton, Alabama, President Funderburk earned the bachelor of science degree in agricultural science from Auburn University, working on a family farm each summer between terms. Following Dr. Russell L. Bogue Dean College of Health, Physical Ed., Recreation, & Athletics \ r. Russell L. Bogue serves as the Dean of Eastern's College of Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Athletics, one of the University's nine academic colleges. A native of Nebraska, Dr. Bogue came to Eastern in 1979 as Dean of HPERA after a successful and distinguished career as a high school and college coach, teacher and administrator. His Minden (Neb.) High School basketball teams won 62 games and lost only four from 1949-52 and he coached that school's 1952 team to D Lady Colonel Basketball three years in the U.S. Army, he returned to Auburn to earn a master of science degree in botany. Later, he completed study for the doctor of philosophy degree in plant physiology from Louisiana State University. Dr. Funderburk held progressively responsible positions in teaching, research and administration during his years at Auburn University where he served with distinction as president from 1980 to 1983. Prior to his post at Auburn, Dr. Funderburk served as chancellor of Auburn University at Montgomery, a regional university that serves south central Alabama. The 500-acre campus and its twenty million dollar physical plant was developed during his tenure there and today stands as a testimonial to his administrative and leadership ability. On his philosophy concerning the role of intercollegiate athletics, Dr. Funderburk says, "I believe that a reasonable program of intercollegiate athletics, operated in an ethical, rational manner is an important part of an institution of higher education. We must not lose sight of the fact that academics are our primary purpose, and we must remember that participants on our teams are student-athletes. It is also imperative that intercollegiate athletics be conducted on a very high level of integrity. "Within this framework, I believe that athletics have a real role to play in the educational experience. A sound, competitive program of athletics provides a rallying point for an institution's alumni and can be of benefit to the other, more fundamental, purposes of a university." He and his wife, Helen, have two children, Kenneth Cliff, and Debra Elaine Dahl, and a granddaughter, Ashley Dahl, age three. the Nebraska state championship following a state runnerup finish in 1951. He then took over the head coaching reins at Hastings College (Neb.) from 1955-62. His basketball teams were conference champions twice and qualified twice for the NAIA National Tournament after capturing district playoff titles. Bogue also coached the baseball team to one conference title and two NAIA playoff appearances. While serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Wyoming, he coached the University High School's cross country team to the state championship. He then returned to Minden High School to assume the duties of principal and left in 1967 to take the position of chairman of the Fort Hays State University (Kan.) Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics, a spot he held until coming to Eastern. He earned his bachelor's degree from Kearney State College in 1949, the master's from Nebraska, 1954, and the doctorate from Wyoming, 1966. Bogue is married to the former Nancy Snyder of Trinidad, Colorado . They have three sons, Rusty, 28, Randy, 25, and Rob, 20. 5 �istoric Richmond, where the famed Blue Grass region meets the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains, is an urban university community of about 25,000 in a rich tobacco and farming area. New inter- and intra-state highway systems enhance Richmond 's accessibility. 1-75 (north-south) passes within a mile of the campus, and 1-64 (east-west) is only 30 minutes away. Kentucky expressways, the Blue Grass, Mountain, Daniel Boone, and Cumberland Parkways are less than an hour's drive from Richmond. H APPROXIMATE MILfAGE FROM RICHMOND WITHIN CIRCLE . 6 Eastern Kentucky University �Striving For Academic Excellence ommitted to the goal of excellence in academics as well as in athletics, Eastern Kentucky University has established an academic counseling program to assist student-athletes in earning a quality education. Athletic Academic Counselor Jacqueline Maki coordinates academic services for all participants in EKU's men's and women's intercollegiate athletics program. Beginning her tenth year on Eastern's faculty, Jackie has a strong personal commitment to studentat h I ete s' completing their degrees while they compete for athletic honors as well. Jackie Maki "These students are highly Academic Counselor talented, motivated individuals operating under so many different pressures and expectations," notes Maki. "We try to provide the information, encouragement, and resources to help them perform at their "personal best" academically and to prepare realistically for successful professional and personal lives after college." Centrally located in the University's Department of Learning Skills, Maki's office provides academic counseling and advising for all student athletes but especially focuses on the freshmen and on academically C disadvantaged students. "Adjusting to the pace and responsibilities of university life is challenging enough for most students," Maki typically tells the freshmen, "but as athletes, you have to be super-organized and efficient to be a good student while you're also investing several hours a day in practice, competition, and team travel. It may not be easy, but it is possible to excel in both worlds ... and we're here to help you reach your own personal goals for excellence." Working closely with administrators, coaches, faculty, graduate assistants, and tutors, Maki coordinates an evening study table for student-athletes; arranges tutoring and study groups; conducts workshops on such topics as time management and study skills; provides individual counseling and referral for academic, personal, and career concerns; teaches a specialized academic orientation course for freshman athletes; and advises students about their academic requirements and progress. "I think I have the best job on campus," Jackie Maki boasts. "Every day I work with dozens of individuals from diverse backgrounds who are really 'turned on' to learning, growing, and personal success ... both in athletics and in the classroom. And in their genuineness, spontaneity, and concern for other people, these young men and women are truly superstars to me." t Lady Colonel Basketball 7 �Athletics At Eastern Kentucky University T he College of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics sponsors nine intercollegiate sports for men, six intercollegiate sports for women and one co-educational intercollegiate sport. Extensive intramural, free play and club sports programs are sponsored providing varied participation opportunities for all. These programs are an integral part of the total program and development of Eastern students. They offer experiences which contribute immeasurably to the health, vitality and preparation of young people as citizens and for their leadership contributions to the youth in the nation's schools and elsewhere. The College of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics offers a variety of degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The coaches of athletics are among the 53 full-time faculty members representing more than a score of the finest colleges and universities in the nation, required to produce academic, intramural and varsity athletic programs. The extensive indoor and outdoor facilities are used interchangeably for instruction and athletics as is the faculty. The College, which is organized under a single administrative unit, includes three academic departments under which there are seventeen undergraduate and graduate degree programs and intercollegiate 8 athletics. This type organization contributes significantly to successful coordination of the program, facul ty and facilities for maximum contribution to the overal l m ission of the University. The College is headed by Dean Russell Bog ue. Its three academic departments are: School and Public Health, chaired by Dr. Herman Bush; Recreati on and Park Administration, chaired by Dr. James McC hesney; and Physical Education, chaired by Dr. Peggy Stanaland. The College's program in intercollegiate athletics is administered by the athletic director, Donald G. Com bs and the assistant athletic director, Dr. Martha Mullins. A balanced athletic program - intramural sports clubs and intercollegiate - is provided by the Co llege. EKU, a member of the NCAA and Ohio Va lley Conference, fields men's athletic teams in baseball, basketball, football, swimming, golf, tennis, cross country, and track (indoor and outdoor). Volleyball, basketbal l, field hockey, tennis, cross country, track and field (indoo r and outdoor), and swimming make up the intercol legiate program for women. Outstanding facilities are required to support an operation with the scope of Eastern's College of H.P.E.R.A. The College's programs are housed in five major campus structures - The Robert 8. Begley Building where it is headquartered, the Alumni Col iseum, the Weaver Health Building, the Presnell Building and the Greg Adams Building. Numerous tennis c ourts, recreation areas, Gertrude Hood Field, Turkey Hughes Baseball Field, and the Tom C. Samuels nine-lane t rack with tartan infield are among the other facilities of the College. An 18-hole golf course and an ou tdoor education-recreation demonstration area are located at Arlington . There are four equipped training ro oms attached to the intercollegiate locker rooms in four buildings. The nine-story Begley Building is designed to serve nearly 2,000 students hourly in classes and also provides seating for more than 20,000 football spectato rs. Included in the structure are three gymnasium s, 12 handball courts, 36 classrooms, 60 offices and the dressing facilities for physical education and footbal l. A training area includes two exercise and weight-lifting rooms, a steam room and a large therapy tank. A sem inar room and reception area are located on the second level of the building. Offices on this level have been accoustically treated to absorb sound from the open-top athletic area. The Thomas E. McDonough Intramural Fields, wh ich boasts 10 football fields, two of which are varsity practice fields and another two which are large enough for soccer Eastern Kentucky University �pl ay, are in use. In season , eight softball fields may be su perimposed on the football layouts. The Glenn Presnell Building houses football locker an d shower rooms , a training room, restrooms and storage, office and lecture areas. An equipment check-out room and other service facilities are located to serve the students who participate in the intramural programs. The Greg Adams indoor tennis facility became ava il able for use in the fall of 1976. It constitutes the fifth building on campus devoted to housing the activities of the College of H.P.E.R.A. Dr. Martha Mullins Assistant Athletic Director Donald G. Combs Director of Athletics onald G. Combs begins his 15th year as Director of Athletics at Eastern, after serving the university 14 years as swimming coach. Combs, who was known throughout the state as dean of Kentucky collegiate swimming coaches, handed ove r his swimming coaching duties to Dan Lichty, his assistant, in 1975. He served the past six years as a member of the NCAA's Division I-AA football committee. He was selected in 1984 as a recipent of the State Distinguished Service Award Certificate given by the National Federation Interscholastic Officials Associ atio n. Recognized as a "Master Coach " by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America in 1970, Combs coached Eastern 's swim team from 1963-75. Du ring those years , the Eels captured 12 consecutive Ke ntucky Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Cha mpionships and compiled a 134-29 record . A 1949 graduate of Model Laboratory School, Combs rece ived his B.S. in 1953 and M .A. in 1965. Both degrees are from Eastern. The son of late baseball Hall-of-Farner Earle B. Combs, Sr., and Mrs. Combs of Richmond, Combs and his wife Pauline, have four children. D Lad y Colonel Basketball r. Martha Mullins begins her tenth year as Assistant Athletic Director. She has been an administrator in women 's athletics at Eastern for the past 15 years and served as the women's tennis coach until the 1983-84 season. A graduate of the University of Alabama , she went on to do post-graduate work at Florida State where she received Ph.D. and M .A. degrees. While at FSU , Mullins assisted with the women 's track program . She went on to serve a six -year tenure in Florida's junior college system where she was active as a tennis and volleyball coach , and provided early leadership in establishing athletic participation for women students in the state 's junior colleges. In 1984, she was selected for the Kentucky Women 's Intercollegiate Conference 's Honor Award for outstanding service to women 's intercollegiate athletics in Kentucky. Mullins has been responsible for the acquisition of historical records for the EKU Archives pertaining to the years in which the KWIC and AIAW Southern Region 11 governed athletics in the state. She is currently assisting in a Kentucky High School Athletic Association project to gather historical data on modernday girls' basketball in the state. Mullins has been active in Ohio Valley Conference activities and is now serving on the OVC Hall of Fame Committee . D 9 �The Athletic Staff DAVID PARKE Athletic Business Manager DR. BOBBY BARTON Athletic Trainer r. Bobby Barton is beginning his 10th season as Athletic Trainer at EKU. Barton came to Eastern from the University of Kentucky where he served as assistant trainer in charge of the basketball Wildcats. Barton received his B.A. degree from the University of Kentucky in 1968 and his M .S. at Marshall University in 1970. He earned his Doctor of Arts degree in Adapted Physical Education at Middle Tennessee State University in 1975 and has also completed the requirements for his certificate in corrective therapy from Texas A&M University. He is currently serving a second two-year term as President of the 8,250-member NAT A (National Athletic Trainers Association) . He was named National Trainer of the Year in 1983-84 by NATA. Barton is married to the former Jojean Chestnut of Lexington and they have one son, Brian , age 6. D avid Parke, a 1978 graduate of EKU , is in his sixth year as Athletic Business Manager for the EKU Colonel teams. Parke, who worked as cashier in the Billings and Collections Division at EKU , has been a member of the Eastern statistics crew for the football and basketball games of the Colonels for eight years. A 1974 graduate of Mad ison Central High School, Parke played basebal l, football and basketbal l for the Indians. He lettered four yea rs in baseball and two seasons in football where he was named All-Mid State Conference at center in 1973. He is the 29-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Parke of Union City. D PAULA SAMMARONE Assistant Athletic Trainer aula Sammarone begins her second year as assistant trainer at Eastern. The Pittsburgh, PA , native received her undergraduate degree in health and physical education with an English minor from Westchester State (PA) in 1982 and earned the master's degree in 1984 from Michigan State . While studying at Michigan St., Sammarone served as head athletic trainer at East Lansing High School and also served as a graduate assistant at MSU and worked with that institution's sports medicine clinic. She has also worked for the United States Soccer Federation and the United States Field Hockey Association . Sammarone, who is single, is the daughter of Dino and Angelina Sammarone of Pittsburgh . P 10 Eastern Kentucky University �Alumni Coliseum - Home of the Colonels lumni Coliseum , which first opened for basketball act ion in 1963, has been the home arena for Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball since the 197677 season when the women moved from Weaver Health Building. Located on a southern slope of the EKU campus, Alumni Coliseum forms the nucleus of a thoughtfully p lanned sports complex. The Coliseum is a massive physical plant and features a great triumph in architectural design with its modern laminated cross-arched roof - the world 's largest of its kind - spanning 309 feet and providing an unobstructed view of events held in the main auditorium . A total of 626,276 board feet of lumber form the 170 beams, and the roof, which arches gracefully 81 feet above floor level , is southern pine finished in its natural beauty. University women's basketball program over the past six years can be attributed to an intensive approach, sound recruiting tactics, and a commitment to hard work by head coach, Dr. Dianne Murphy. Following a period of years when the program was down, the Colonels are now regarded as one of the top women's programs in the state as well as considered one of the most competitive in the Ohio Valley Conference. As a coach and player, Murphy has achieved success wherever she has been. As a student-athlete at Tennessee Tech University, she lettered on the volleyball, basketball, and tennis teams. She graduated from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville in 1972 with a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education. She earned her Masters in the same field while working as a coaching graduate assistant in the Tech program in 1973, and completed her doctoral dissertation for a Ph.D. from the Florida State University in 1980. Murphy's coaching days started as the head basketball coach at Shorter College in Rome, Ga., wh ere she coached the Hawkettes to 4-11, 20-8, and 13-11 seasons. From 1976-79, she was at the helm of the Florida State Lady Seminoles basketball program, and turned their program around with excellent recruiting and a sound coaching philosophy. In her first year at Florida State, Murphy was looking for a little respect around the state and produced a 11-12 record. Her 1977-78 team finished second in the FAIAW State tournament with a 19- 15 record while the 1978-79 edition of the Lady Seminoles captured the FAIAW State title and finished with a 19-14 record. In six years at Eastern Kentucky University, Murphy 14 has taken a team who was 5-24 prior to her arrival and produced seasons of9-19, 16-14, 14-16, 14-13, 17-11,and 18-10. Last year, Murphy's team set a new school record for wins in a season with 18, and finished regular season OVC play with an 8-6 record for third place and qualified for a berth in the conference post-season tournament for the third consecutive year. Eastern Kentucky University �Murphy has chaired numerous basketball committees and has been elected to Who's Who in American Women. She was selected by her colleagues as the 198081 OVC Co-Coach of the Year. She began her basketball career at Lakeview High School in Stoneboro, PA, in 1974 where she earned four varsity letters and was named team Most Valuable Player as a senior. Myers went on to play collegiately at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania where she set numerous single game, season, and career records. She is currently the third leading all-time scorer in Slippery Rock history. She also excelled in the classroom, graduating Magna Cum Laude and was nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-American. Prior to arriving at EKU, Myers served as an assistant coach .at Florida International University in Miami~and as a graduate assistant coach at Slippery Rock where she earned a master's degree in 1984. At Eastern, her coaching responsibilities include scouting opponents, monitoring the academic progress of the players, and player development of second guards and small forwards. Myers , 26, is a native of Jackson Center, PA. KATHY BARNARD Assistant Coach K athy Barnard (pronounced Barn -ard), a former graduate assistant coach at the University of Texas, begins her first season as a full-time assistant on the Eastern staff. Barnard comes to Eastern after serving in one of the best women's basketball programs in the nation. Texas was ranked as the nation's top team in many of the polls last year, but fell in the NCAA regional tournament. She will be involved in recruiting and will also work in the public relations aspect of the program as well as provide on -floor coaching. A four-year letter winner in basketball, Barnard was a three-year starter at guard for Rice University. She helped lead the Lady Owls to the runner-up spot in the 1981 Texas AIAW State Championship. Barnard received a B.A. degree from Rice in 1983. She earned the Master's of Education degree from Texas last spring . A native of 16 Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a graduate of Holland Hall High School , she is th e daughter of Walte r and Corrine Gerard of Tulsa. Eastern Kentucky University �D David Miller Graduate Assistant avid Miller joins the Lady Colonels staff as a graduate assistant coach after graduating from Springfield College in Springfield , MA. During his college career at Springfield, David worked in the capacity of an assistant coach in the women 's basketball program and also was employed at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame . Lady Colonel Basketball 27 �52 Angela Fletcher Sr., 5-9, 130 lbs. Guard Chattanooga, TN (Chattanooga City H.S.) Major: Physical Education •. - · --- nown to her teammates and coaches as " Chocolate," Angela Fletcher is one of the premier players in the Ohio Valley Conference. Because of academic difficulties, sh~ will be ineligible to play the first semester and will miss the Lady Colonels ' first eight games. Chocolate was a second team AII-OVC selection last year and is Eastern 's leading returning scorer. She transferred to Eastern from Roane State Community College in Harriman, TN, where she helped lead coach Jim Davis' team to the National Junior College Championship in 1984. She was selected a JUCO All-American and was named MVP of the national JUCO tournament. Her court strength lies in her sound fundamental skills and her ability to see the enti're court. She is looking to improve on her field goal shooting percentage this year which dropped to below 40 percent last season after connecting on 53 percent at Roane State. Angela is the daughter of Paris and Annie Fletcher of Chattanooga. The Austin, Ind ., native poured in 1,920 points during an outstanding career. The 5-6 sharpshooter will long be remembered for her free throw accuracy as well as her scoring ability. In two of her four seasons, Goodin led the nation's NCAA Division 1 schools in free throw percentage. As a freshman, she connected on .897 percent of her charity tosses and in her junior year she converted 91 percent. A three-time All-Ohio Valley Conference selection, Goodin was named to a number of post-season teams during her tenure. She was named to the AII-OVC Freshman team, AII-KWIC, and OVC All-Tournament team. In addition, she was selected MVP of the 1981 Colonel Classic. "Lisa has helped lead the women's basketball program here at Eastern to the level of distinction it enjoys today," said Colonel head coach Dr. Dianne Murphy. Tina Wermuth Lady Colonel Basketball 41 �THE OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE he idea of forming the Ohio Valley Conference was originated in 1941, but could not be implemented until after World War II. In 1948 five schools - Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Murray, Morehead, and Louisville - withdrew from the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and were joined by Evansville in forming the original membership of the OVC. They were joined shortly thereafter by Tennessee Tech and Marshall. The membership has changed somewhat over the years. Middle Tennessee joined the league in 1952, East Tennessee in 1957, and Austin Peay in 1962. They replaced Louisville, which became independent in 1949, and Marshall and Evansville, which departed in 1952. East Tennessee left in 1978 and was replaced by Akron, which began competition in 1980, and Youngstown joined the league race in 1981. Western Kentucky withdrew its membership at the conclusion of the 1981-82 athletic year. In 1955 the National Collegiate Athletic Association T 42 formally recognized the OVC as a major basketball conference, giving the league's champion an automatic bid to the post-season NCAA Tournament. At the time, the OVC was only the second six-team conference to obtain major status from the NCAA. Prior to 1955, Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, and Murray were the only OVC members ranked as major basketball powers. In 1978, the OVC began football competition in the NCAA Division I-AA which offers a post-season championship playoff system. Eastern Kentucky captured the 1979 and 1982 national championship titles and has represented the OVC in two other championship games in 1980 and 1981, finishing in the runnersup slot those years. The administration of the conference is now supervised by James Delany, who formerly served on the staff of the NCAA. Delany is the OVC's fourth commissioner, following Art Guepe (1963-75), Paul Dietzel (1975-76), and Bob Vanatta ( 1976-79) . Eastern Kentucky University �All-Sports Champions astern's intercollegiate athletics program is "King of the Hill" again in the Ohio Valley Conference . For the second consecutive year, EKU won both the men's and women's OVC All-Sports Championships, symbolic of overall athletic excellence within the conference. For EKU's men's teams, it marks the second straight year they have received the trophy, while the women continue their domination of OVC sports by winning the award for the third consecutive time. No other school in conference history has captured both trophies in the same season. On the men's side, Eastern rolled up 1091/2 points to outdistance second-place Murray State with 97. Middle Tennessee took third place with 85 points followed by Austin Peay with 62, Akron, 52, Youngstown State 51 1/2 , Tennessee Tech, 44, and Morehead State, 40. The Colonels won OVC championships in cross country, football, and golf while finishing second in outdoor track, baseball (divisional), indoor track, and basketball (tie). EKU's women took three of the five conference championships to total 58 points. Middle Tennessee was second with 47 followed by Austin Peay, 43, Morehead E State, 39, Tennessee Tech , 38, Murray State, 34, Akron, 33, and Youngstown State, 23.
