With continued University support
of the program through such things as
grants-in-aid, supply of uniforms,
equipment, an equipped training room,
and the continued good fortune of having dedicated athletes, the outlook
for Eastern's women's basketball team
is very bright. The tradition of excellence on the state level will be
continued and expanded to attempt to
achieve levels of success, regionally
and nationally.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Intercollegiate· athletics at Eastern Kentucky University is directed
toward providing competitive opportunities for the athlete of superior talents and to provide young women who are
preparing to coach with an experience
in organized high level competition
m1der qualified women coaches.
The women's intercollegiate basketball program at Eastern is administered
through the School of Health, Physical
Education, Recreation and Athletics and
operates in association with the Kentucky Women's Intercollegiate Conference
(KWIC) and the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW)
and it's regional organization.

PAST RECORD
Women's basketball at Eastern Kentucky University has been steadily growing and improving since the program began. This growth and improvement has
helped Eastern capture the KWIC State
Tournament (large college division)
since its beginning, and thereby has permitted the team to represent Kentucky
in the AIAW Region II Tournament as
well. With an overall record of 62
wins and 21 losses the last five years,
it is evident that when college women's
basketball tradition in Kentucky is
spoken of, the name is Eastern Kentucky University.
Each year Eastern plays one of the
strongest schedules in Kentucky collegiate circles. Competition includes
teams from Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee,
and Indiana.
