Van Peursem founded the Stephen Collins Foster Music Camp in the midst of the Depression in 1936. Faced with a lack of experienced music students entering Eastern, he founded the camp to introduce students to music in the hope that they would then attend Eastern and study music education and therefore improve music programs in secondary schools. Foster Music Camp continues to provide music education for middle and high school students every summer. <br /><br />This collection consists of the records of the camp including photographs, attendance lists, sound recordings of concerts and the camp publication, Bandanna. <br /><br />Only a portion of this collection has been digitized.
