Walbaum attended Eastern Kentucky University and graduated in 1975 with a degree in English. While he was a student he worked as a Milestone photographer and was also the photographer for the Richmond Register from March to May, 1982. This collection consists of the images taken during his employment at the Richmond Register. Typically only one or two images appear in the newspaper, even though the photographer normally took multiple photographs. Sometimes as many as 11 rolls of film were used, as in the World's Fair story. This collection allows the user to see the photos that the paper didn't print.
