Handwritten text on the back of portrait: "This picture was the last gift presented to the college by Judge James W. Cammack. He brought it to the meeting of the Board of Regents on Jan. 10, 1939 and asked that it be placed on the walls of the college. H.L. Donovan, Pres." Breckinridge, a candidate in the 1860 presidential election, was defeated by Abraham Lincoln. Information on the Library of Congress, Prints (visual works) and Photographs on-line catalog indicate that the lithograph was produced circa 1860.
